STV Scotland was originally made up of five regions:

  • STV Border (Scotland)
  • STV Central (Edinburgh & East)
  • STV Central (Glasgow & West)
  • STV North (Aberdeen & North)
  • STV North (Dundee & Tayside)

Whilst they still “virtually” exist for the purposes of STV sub-regional news or advertising, the transmitter networks now only recogonise them as:

  • 1. STV Border (Scotland)
  • 2. STV Central Belt, comprising of:
              • STV Central (Edinburgh & East)
              • STV Central (Glasgow & West)
  • 3. STV Highlands, comprising of:
              • STV North (Aberdeen & North)
              • STV North (Dundee & Tayside)

UK Radio Portal therefore maps radio station against any/all of the three “primary regions”:

  • STV Border (Scotland)
  • STV Central Belt
  • STV Highlands
