We believe that one of the biggest downsides to “traditional” radio on the TV, as found on the existing radio channels on Digital Terrestrial TV (DTT), are the low quality images that show up whilst listening to the radio. This is because the images are broadcast alongside the audio over the air on very expensive broadcast network capacity, the cost of which is prohibitive to radio stations in being able to carry higher quality imagery.

Due to the Hybrid TV nature of UK Radio Portal, “bridging” the broadcast network with Internet delivered content, we are able to support multiple full-screen, HD quality images on the TV screen whilst the radio station is playing. Viewers/listeners will therefore see carousel of radio station provided HD quality images on their TV screens whilst the radio station is playing.

What do viewers see on their TV whilst the radio station is playing?
